Recently we had the pleasure of creating a set of glass memorials for a client named Fiona. After she received her glass memorial, Fiona left us with a wonderful message:
- - - - - - - Hi Setsuko I received Jedda this week. Thank you. The photo you sent looked awesome but when I received the pieces they were even better. Thank you will never be enough. I have always loved your work but these hold even more meaning and I will alway treasure them. Kind regards Fiona - - - - - - - We always appreciate the kind words our clients send us, it gives us motivation and positivity. We have recently started creating urns after several of our Glass memorial clients sharing with us where their loved ones' ashes are kept. Admittedly the urns they have are beautiful, yet our clients come to us in hopes of finding something that is more expressive of their loved ones, something unique that they can look at and feel the spirit of that individual/individuals. Obviously we offer the Glass memorial service, but the service only requires a small amount of ashes, and so the urns provide an alternative for the rest of their loved ones' to reside in. Currently we do not produce the urns with the ashes inside the glass like our other Glass Memorial products, but we are working on ways to make that an option for our clients.
After speaking to our friends about Glass Memorial 'Ashes into Glass', a friend suggested that we make something for their beloved pet who had passed away. Many people consider their pets as family members and it is only natural to also offer these services to all types of loved ones. So with their permission we now show you the Glass Memorial of 'Joie'. Our friend wanted to keep something special but non intrusive in her home as a memorial to Joie, so they decided on a glass paperweight, something that can be admired in the house by everyone.
Thank you for visiting our Glass Memorial blog page.
The concept of Glass Memorial was conceived in 2016, in which glass artist Setsuko Ogishi wanted to provide a way for people to combine the beauty of glass and the memories of loved ones into an art piece that could be displayed inside the house as an alternative to other traditional methods such as an urn. After experimenting with donated ashes, Setsuko carefully designed pieces that would work together with the ashes. Using colours that would compliment the ashes that are suspended within the glass, the pieces are each crafted individually and made to order. This blog serves as a place to receive updates and news regarding the Ashes into Glass - Glass Memorial. If you would like to receive updates on the Glass Memorials, please check this blog periodically. |
